ABOUT

Hi!

I’m Cecily Milne (pronounced SEH-suh-lee MILN).

I created Yoga Detour to give movement enthusiasts a consistent source of intentional, next-level support.

When you practice with me, you’ll notice that every pose, every action, and every transition is delivered with a level of precision and intentionality that catches most students by surprise. As a result, you’ll walk away from class not only moving better but understanding your body (and its true potential!) better.

When you embark on the journey of a Detour-informed teacher to fill the gaps left behind by your 200HR yoga teacher training, you’ll receive unprecedented levels of feedback and individual guidance. You’ll learn to prioritize specificity and discernment in your classes to ensure your students have a transformative experience in every single practice.

1-1 connection is something I value immensely. So even though we might get to know each other through a screen, you can look forward to a relationship built on transparency, vulnerability (since I’m a fallible human, just like you!), and a shared desire for growth and evolution.

I’ve spent the last 20 years learning to understand the body through movement:

  • Certified to teach yoga by Downward Dog Yoga Centre in Toronto. Additional certifications in Restorative Yoga and Prenatal Yoga.

  • 10,000 hours of teaching yoga and mobility in private and group settings

  • Certified as a Functional Range Conditioning Movement Specialist and Functional Range Assessment provider

  • Completion of Dr. Guy Voyer’s Somatraining program and ELDOA Levels 1-3

  • Additional training with Ido Portal, Gymnastic Bodies, Agatsu, Jill Miller, and Katy Bowman

It’s fair to say I’m a movement nerd, through and through. And since you found your way here, I’m guessing you are too 🤓. So let’s nerd out together.

Move with me in the Detour Virtual Studio.

Be part of a community where mediocrity simply isn’t tolerated.

I look forward to getting to know you.
